The Launch of Alcatel-Lucent University in Smart Village 1/7/2007 Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr.Tarek Kamel announced the launch of Alcatel-Lucent University in Smart Village, on Tuesday 19th of June-2007, after Alcatel-Lucent Training Center has joined the international learning network of the company. The training center, which is the first to be established in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, is the 20th center worldwide, which proves Egypt's credibility in communications and further develops this industry by providing the Egyptian government with up to date, international learning techniques, including e-learning, in both technical and managerial aspects. The new university grants its Egyptian engineers a Masters degree from France, which gives them the opportunity to acquire a worldwide accredited certificate. Moreover, it is currently employing 16 Egyptian specialists who have excellent linguistic and technological skills and who are highly qualified to train many students from Egypt and other neighboring countries, which achieves revenue on both the organizational and national level.
